Below is an excerpt from a letter sent to current students in March 2022:

... Miss Sunny opened En Avant Studio in the fall of 1981 at the request of some friends who were looking for a conservative dance studio for their young children and had found out she had a background in dance. The studio grew and expanded over the years to the location and facilities we have today, which include 2 studios, a waiting room, locker room and storage building.

During that 40 years of teaching dance Miss Sunny also raised 3 (now grown) children, now has 4 beautiful grandchildren and this June will celebrate 54 years of marriage! Her husband retired as a professional engineer in March of 2020 and Miss Sunny is now excited to announce her semi-retirement. As a result, there will be some changes at the studio. Starting this fall, we will only be offering Intermediate Level (4th -12th Gr) and Adult classes. Some changes will be made to these schedules (days and/or times) and we will be sending out those details as they are finalized. She will greatly miss her Preschool, Primary and Special Dancers.

Thank you to those who supported us through this pandemic and over the last 40 years!!!

We are still planning to hold some classes this summer, including a couple of fun surprises for our Preschool and Primary dancers (think of a cross between the Nutcracker Party & our usual summer dance camps). Stay tuned and we'll share more about that in the coming weeks!

FAQ

Please Note:  We will be asking everyone to remove their shoes before entering the main studio in order to protect our dance floor from dirt and scuff marks.  You are welcome to enter barefoot or, if you prefer, you may bring socks to wear.  Bins will be available for you to place your shoes into in the waiting room before entering the studio.
Q:  Will masks be required?
A:  No, masks are optional.
Q:  Are children welcome?
A:  Absolutely!  We do ask that you please keep them with you, as we will have several tables set up with keepsakes and a place to write memories, as well as having costumes, etc, from past years displayed around the studio.
Q:  Who is invited to this celebration/reception?
A:  This reception is specifically to celebrate our 40th year in business and Miss Sunny's semi-retirement, so it is designed to bring back together former students (and their parents) and give us all a chance to reconnect, laugh and enjoy the memories, and thank Miss Sunny for all her years of teaching.  Non-students are welcome to attend, but this is not designed to be an Open House and we will not be registering students that day.
